The essentials without rushing

The steps

  1. Louvre and Tuileries

Start early around Cour Napoléon, then cross Tuileries Garden.

Planning details for Louvre Museum · Attraction’s official website

  2. Lunch on the Left Bank

Head towards Saint-Germain-des-Prés and choose a table on a side street.

  3. Île de la Cité

Walk past the quays and Notre-Dame; include Sainte-Chapelle if you have arranged admission.

  4. Quays at sunset

Finish beside the Seine between Pont-Neuf and Pont des Arts.

Choose the main interior

Give priority to one major indoor visit, either at the Louvre or on Île de la Cité, to keep a real walk between stops. Tuileries and the quays work as flexible breaks.

A shorter version

With half a day, keep the Louvre as an exterior stop, cross the Seine and finish on Île de la Cité. Check admission separately for any monument you want to enter.
