Before buying a ticket
Booking Paris attractions: choose the right ticket
Check official tickets, time slots, entry conditions and free admission before paying for a Paris attraction.
The short answer
Start from the attraction’s official website, choose exactly what you want to visit and check the conditions of your fare. Free admission may still involve a time slot. A dated ticket does not remove security checks. Keep a nearby alternative if your preferred visit is unavailable.
Check what the ticket actually includes
Compare the scope: collections, exhibition, guided tour, floor or activity. Two offers naming the same monument may cover different experiences. Check the meeting point and visit time as carefully as the price.
Follow the ticket link from the attraction’s official website. Read the change and cancellation terms before paying; the word reservation does not establish those terms.
Louvre: fares and supporting documents
The official visitor page currently lists a France/EEA rate of €22 and a non-EEA rate of €32, depending on residence or nationality. Free admission has separate conditions and evidence requirements. Read the category that applies to you; this guide does not determine eligibility.
The Louvre recommends booking a slot, including for visitors eligible for free admission. An activity may require a separate ticket in addition to museum entry. Leaving the museum ends your visit, so plan your break before going out.
Eiffel Tower: floor, ascent and security
Choose the destination floor and ascent method before comparing tickets. Stairs and lifts involve different physical effort; do not assume a second-floor offer covers the summit.
The official ticket office generally advertises sales up to 90 days ahead for lifts and 60 days for stairs to the second floor, with exceptions. A sold-out online slot does not by itself describe on-site availability. Security checks remain compulsory: leave spare time.
Keep your day adaptable
Avoid closely spaced reservations in distant areas. Suggested visit durations do not automatically include queues, security, meals or connections. Book the main visit and keep a nearby walk flexible.
If access or fatigue matters, check the full route from transport, the entrance and facilities. A discounted fare does not establish step-free access.
