Arts, crafts and the Haut-Marais
3rd district: Temple
The 3rd district mixes Haut-Marais streets, studios, museums and local shops. Around Arts-et-Métiers and Enfants-Rouges, select a few streets rather than trying to cover the whole Marais.

The four administrative quarters
- Arts-et-Métiers
- Enfants-Rouges
- Archives
- Sainte-Avoye
These administrative names do not always match the informal areas used in everyday conversation.
Administrative area: approximately 1.17 km². This is an area measurement, not a walking distance. Official district dataset, source record dated 2026-10-06.
Choose collections or a neighbourhood walk
Choose a museum day around Carnavalet, Picasso or Arts et Métiers, or a walk through the Haut-Marais. Enfants-Rouges shows a different side of the area through food shops and residential streets.
Prepare separate admissions
Each museum or exhibition has its own conditions. Paris Centre is the municipal point of reference for the first four districts; the larger Marais area also crosses administrative boundaries.
